The first step is to use keywords to represent your link. The keywords should be the one the user sees not the affiliate link itself. Not only because it is more beautiful to the eyes than the affiliate link itself but it is interpreted by google as representing the keyword itself. And if that KEYWORD is a highly searched keyword,
more people would be drawn to your affiliate product because when people use the keyword for their search at Google, your affiliate link page maybe included in the search results.The second step is to create links by commenting on blogs and other relevant articles. However, do not spam just for the sake of creating affiliate links, make sure your comments add value to the article topic itself.
In most blog and article comment system, you are allowed to put your NAME, WEBSITE and the COMMENT itself.
In doing so, do not put your name on the name field but the KEYWORD you are targetting, for example if your name is Arthur and the keyword you are targetting is "FIND A HOTEL", put the word FIND A HOTEL in the name field. Then the affiliate link on the WEBSITE field then your comment on the comment box. The affiliate page to whom your keyword is now linking would be more search engine optimized.
