Does Your Contribution To Philhealth Affect Your Claims?

The answer to this question is a big NO! Since PhilHealth is a SOCIAL INSURANCE, the amount of your PhilHealth contribution does not affect how much you get from hospitalization claims. The principle is "those who have more in life, pays a bigger share in the social health insurance cost". In effect the cost of health insurance from the government for the poor is shouldered by the rich people and those who have higher salaries if you are employed.

The important thing is that your contributions is posted by PhilHealth into its applicable month or period for you to claim hospitalization reimbursements when

you need it.

However, the big problem is, those that are employed are the ones whose contributions are not immediately posted by PhilHealth to its proper applicable period causing difficulties on

the part of employed people during times of hospitalization on their part or their dependents.

If ever employed people contributions are posted, there is a big delay, sometimes spanning more than a month.

PhilHealth is however, trying to rectify these problems with new investments in systems and processes that there is light at the end of the tunnel.  With its dynamic leadership and dedicated people, this young and vibrant GOCC (one of the most effective and service oriented) shall deliver more in terms of services to the people.

Time will come it will be so easy both for voluntary and employed members to enjoy their PhilHealth benefits.
